jumping everywhere

The other day, Jakob was lying next to his dad and said,
"I want trampoline, Appa. Pleaaaase."

It was so hilarious to hear it, we both looked at each other and laughed. If I am correct, I think it was the first time he asked his dad to buy him something. I know he is in love with it, especially these days. I can leave him there all day probably. He is jumping off from couch, stairs, and anything that is high enough to give him an initiative. Do we need something specifically for jumping? Will it diminish his high desire to jump at all opportunities, especially those unsafe ones? Probably not. The trampoline will just be another one for him to jump on.

I love you, mum and dad.

I said, "I love you, Jakob."

He laughed.

He said, "I love you, mum."

He laughed.

I said, "You love dad?"

He laughed.

So lovely to see his reaction.

Became a fish over this summer.... almost...

After the trips to several beaches over the last christmas break, Jakob became quite fond of swimming. We enrolled him at a new swim school taking advantage of his current status. It is already our second month at this swim school, and today he did such a great job with his lesson. I saw him under the water having his eyes open when he tried to reach the edge of the pool! (a part of training.) I should have recorded it! Anyways he is having a lot of fun at the moment soon he will swim like a fish.

not so ordinary weekend in canberra

toilet training in progress

Although I have been thinking and talking about the toilet training since Jakob was about 18 months old, I didn't actually start it properly not until recently. Perhaps from late January or so, I would say. Ever since then, it is all over the places. Some days no accidents. Other days so terrible. Today he's done wonderful job. No accidents and he even made a car trip to ToysRus and Woolies safely. But who knows how tomorrow will be like. His dad told me not to take a picture of him on the potty or the toilet, but I ignored it. I have a pretty good reason, I think. I reckon there is no other age that one can look cute and adorable when sitting down on the toilet. Don't you think so too? Anyway I swear I  won't continue to take a picture of his "private" scene. I will be more than happy to leave it that way as much as he wants.  ;)

Dad's first attempt to cut his hair

We finally got ourselves a clipper in an attempt to cut Jakob's hair. His hair grows so quickly, and by no surprise he already had about six hair cuts in his "two years" of life. So we thought it made sense to get the clipper so there is no drama to take him to a hairdresser. I think his dad was quite happy with his first attempt, and Jakob also enjoyed the experience too. What do you think about his new hairstyle by his dad?

now the rain's gone, but looks like summer's gone too.

Here in Australia, it rained and rained everyday over a week. I had never seen something like that before in Australia. The rain finally went away, but it looks like the rain took the last bit of our summer with it. Suddenly the morning breeze feels like the icy cold one you get in winter. I don't like this. It is perfectly normal part of this mother nature. We had the summer, and now it is the time to welcome Winter! NO! I am not ready for that at all. This place had never heated up enough to feel the real Aussie summer. Sadly, there is nothing I can do about it. Even Jakob's immune system started to show that I'd better get myself ready for another winter. He had not been well over last three weeks, and still got some last bit of nasty cough. The poor fella had been staying at home and did not get to do much outdoor activities. Although he did not miss out on much since it rained and rained. When we went to the shopping centres, we could already find stores selling easter egg and bunny chocolates. It is such a surprise to see them already when it seems like not very long ago, Jakob's auntie from Swiss came during the easter holiday last year. Another way to realise how fast time flies , I guess. Anyway, we are now definitely heading into the winter time. Give Jakob your warm wishes to get through his third winter healthily!
